Congratulations to RBAI 1st XI on winning the McCullough Cup today, following the 2nd XI victory on Monday winning the Prior Shield.
In a tense final at Lisnagarvey today, the 1st XI defeated Friends’ School 3:2 with, literally, the last shot of the match! With the game at 2:2, Inst were awarded a penalty corner as the clock went into the red. John Cunningham slotted home the winning strike.
Meanwhile in another very close game, the 2nd XI defeated Banbridge Academy 2:1 on “run-ins”. The sides were level at 0:0 at the end of 60 minutes, so it went to run-ins, with Inst coming out on top!
