Unveiling of the Seahorse 2011

The unveiling of the Seahorse statue at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution (RBAI) was a momentous occasion, marking the school’s long and storied history. The bronze statue, which was commissioned to celebrate the school’s 150th anniversary, stands prominently at the entrance of the school and serves as a symbol of the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, tradition, and community. The statue depicts the iconic Seahorse, the school’s emblem, and serves as a reminder of the school’s strong ties to Belfast’s maritime heritage. The unveiling ceremony was attended by alumni, current students, faculty, and local dignitaries, and it was a proud moment for all those associated with RBAI. The Seahorse statue is a fitting tribute to the school’s past, present, and future, and it will continue to inspire generations of Old Instonians for years to come.
